Closeup sweet skull wit sweet worms over wooden background with copy space

It’s been almost a month since Halloween and there is still candy tempting you and your kids!  Everywhere you turn, there are remnants of that spooky night!  Don’t fret, we have a few ideas on how to make your Halloween candy disappear!

Donate to the Troops

A loving care package filled with memories of home including sweet treats from Halloween will be a thankful surprise to our troops overseas. Think about adding your leftover candy to a care package this year! Check out Operation Shoebox for more details.

Chocolate

  • Save for upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas desserts.
A Hershey kiss top to the gingerbread house or decorations for a cookie will put these chocolatey candies to good use.
  • Halloween Smores
Everyone knows about the traditional smores with plain chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers. But what if you change it up a bit and instead of a chocolate bar, you add a Reese’s Cup or a Milky Way mini bar.  The extra flavors will be a welcome surprise in this campfire classic!
  • Bake It!
Add it into baked desserts calling for chocolate.  This will make for a yummy surprise in your regular baked goods. PS…you can add it into the icing, batter, filling, etc…whatever your heart and taste buds can imagine.

Candy

  • Gingerbread house decorations
In a few weeks, there will be a plain gingerbread house just waiting to be decorated in the brightest, sweetest decorations.  Save some of those bright colored candies to make your gingerbread house come to life!
  • Stained Glass Windows
Crush up your hard candies, cut out the middle of your cookies and fill the hole with the crushed candies. Bake on parchment paper and viola!  It will make for a beautiful, elegant effect!
  • Gift Bags
Its always a great time to show someone you are thinking about them with a sweet gift bag! Fill a small gift bag with a couple of pieces of candy and hand out! Its sure to bring a smile to their face!
