Top 5 Favorite Summer Time Salads
Summer time is quickly approaching and with it comes cookouts and gatherings, all of which require a delicious lineup of food including summer time salads. Whether you are working the grill or cooking at the stove, a good salad can provide the vegetable sidekick for your main entree. But what type of salad should you make?
Chef Bianca shares her top 5 favorite salads recipes.
1. Potato Salad
This is literally my go to potato salad recipe and it is a hit!
Every.
Single.
Time!
Everything about it is delicious but I am pretty sure that the pound of bacon brings it home! Everything IS better with bacon! Try it out!
2. Pasta Salad
This recipe is literally Caprese Salad meets Pasta! This salad appeals to my Italian side and it is “Stupefacente” (Amazing). Also, the fact that it’s pesto and not mayo based is really speaking my language! My tip with this salad is to try adding grilled zucchini to give it an extra serving of summer veggies.
3. Fruit Salad
Even if its a fruit salad, it still needs a dressing right!? This Honey Lime Dressing will make you fall in love with ANY fruit salad.
4. Broccoli Salad
THANK YOU ERICA! My friend Erica always brings a broccoli salad to our pot lucks and leaves with an empty dish every time! So naturally I had to ask her for the recipe reference. If you are looking for a crunchy, fresh, and flavorful alternative to lettuce, definitely give this one a try.
5. Green Salad
I always love a spinach and berry salad because the possibilities are endless. You can mix and match any berries. Seriously strawberries, blueberries, and the list goes on and on. Then we get into the different cheeses (feta, goat, gorgonzola), toasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans) and dressings! (poppy seed, balsamic, etc.) You can literally make an entirely new salad just by mixing and matching these ingredient groups! Start with this recipe and see where the berry takes you!
These are my top five summertime salads but I am always looking for more great recipes to try. Send us your fav summertime salad recipe and we’ll give it a try. We will give a shout out and post our favorite new recipe on social media for all the other salad lovers to enjoy!
